In any backbend, but especially prone (on your belly) ones, focus the bend in the thoracic spine rather than hinging in the lumbar (lower back). Have you seen the playlists? I think they are a tab along the top. Classes are organized in both style of practice (Vinyasa, Yin, Slow Flow) or duration (under 20 mins, 40 mins or over 1 hour). Is this what you are referring to?

I was teaching today and although I do this transition through another practice, I decided not to link them again, for these reasons ,Yet in ashtanga it is a transition in the Primary Series but it is backwards from V1 to V2 one time, is that any less awkward?
I guess just once every now and then is ok. It's just doing this transition over and over as in power yoga. You can still go from a long lunge (anjaneyasana) to vira 2 almost smoothly. Have you tried that one?
